St. Louis — Today, nurse and fourth-generation Missourian Trudy Busch Valentine’s campaign for U.S. Senate was endorsed by the United Auto Workers Region 4, which represents more than 15,000 workers and several thousand retirees in Missouri and thousands of additional workers and retirees across many neighboring states.
“We are proud to endorse Trudy Busch Valentine for U.S. Senate,” said Fred Jamison, President of UAW Local 2250. “Trudy’s life has been dedicated to serving others and we trust her to serve the people of Missouri with integrity and honesty in the Senate. Trudy will stand up to anti-labor and corporate special interests and will be a champion for all workers. We know we can trust her to be an ally for our members as we work to rebuild a strong middle class and strengthen the quality of life for all working families.”
“It is a privilege to receive the endorsement of the United Auto Workers” said Trudy Busch Valentine. “I have seen firsthand the power of organized labor to transform society, lift up workers, and build great businesses. One of the things I’m most proud of is the way my dad, Gussie Busch, built Anheuser-Busch into the largest brewery in the country in partnership with union labor, making sure they were paid fair wages that allowed them to support their families and live the American dream. In the Senate, I will continue working in partnership with labor to make sure the American dream is in reach for everyone. That starts with raising the federal minimum wage, passing the PRO Act, protecting prevailing wages, lowering the cost of healthcare and prescription drugs, and working to bring good jobs back home to make things in America again.”
